Summary:
Procurement Assistant helps a procurement professional to ensure that a business has a constant supply of materials or equipment. They work primarily in an administrative capacity, doing tasks such as scheduling material purchases and deliveries and verifying current inventory.
Job Objectives
- Working directly with the Procurement Manager to streamline the procurement & delivery process
- Negotiating prices with suppliers and subcontractors
- Ordering and buying from subcontractors and suppliers for all projects
- Sourcing suppliers and subcontractors
- Producing purchase orders and posting delivery notes using Eque2 software

- Filing, organizing, and matching invoices and delivery notes
- Reviewing supplier terms and prices regularly
- Assisting the Accounts department with month end purchase invoicing
- Liaising with the Logistics Manager regarding store maintenance and site set up
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12
- 2years Work experience as a Purchasing Assistant, Purchasing Officer or similar role
- Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs
- Update internal databases with order details (dates, vendors, quantities, discounts)
