Instrument Mechanician - Transnet Pipelines

Position Purpose

The MC&I Mechanician is responsible for maintenance, faultfinding and repair of all instrumentation, metering/measurement, and control equipment in accordance with Transnet Pipelines policies and procedures and to International Standards, in classified hazardous locations and potentially explosive atmospheres to ensure safe, efficient and effective custody transfer and transportation of petroleum products.  The MC&I Mechanician Is also responsible for minor installation of MC&I equipment.

Routine maintenance ensuring optimal availability of equipment. Qualifications and Experience

Successfully completed apprenticeship (3 years) in process Instrumentation and 3 years on the job experience in an instrumentation environment OR a formal technical qualification (minimum N3 at a TVET) in process instrumentation with related training and 4 years on the job experience in an instrumentation environment and relevant training in the following fields. Standard Job Requirements Driver's license code 08/B
