PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Driver is responsible to provide a reliable and courteous transportation service with safety as a top priority at the SGS Chemical Vaal River Laboratory.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform various tasks relating to the transportation of goods.
- Perform deliveries and/or collections as and when required.
- Operate and maintain records
- Adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management system.
- Ensure cleanliness of company vehicles.
- Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by direct line manager.

COMPLIANCE & AUTHORITY
- Cease the use of any equipment that may be deemed to constitute a safety hazard or enter hazardous environments without the necessary knowledge and protection and report the situation to higher authority to take action.
- Cease to carry on with work that may affect the quality (integrity) of services and report the situation to higher authority to take action.
- Initiate a formal improvement request when a deviation of the system occurs, possible improvements are identified or when nonconformity is identified.
Qualifications
Education
- Matric (Grade 12) – with Mathematics and Science as subjects
- Valid PrDP (Professional Driving Permit)
- Valid Code 10 Driver’s License
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years driving experience preferably within the mining industry
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a variety of personalities
REQUIRED SKILLS
- A clear criminal record
- Good knowledge of the Gauteng/North West/Free State region
- Ability to read maps/GPS
- Ability to read and write
- Good communication skills
- Professional
- Willing to work overtime
- Flexible
