Afrimat Mining Services, based in Bedfordview has a vacancy for a Financial Accountant.
Duties and responsibilities (not limited to):
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Manage the day-to-day functions of the admin and finance department
- Manage, coach & mentor the accounting team members
- Maintain and develop internal control systems and procedures
- Provide support to the operational management team when & where needed
- Various reporting responsibilities
- Finalising month-end accounts within the required deadline
- Assist with overseeing the procurement department
- Liaise with internal and external auditors
- Calculate and submit VAT and income tax returns
- Cashflow planning
- Budgets and forecasting
- BEE planning and implementation
- General Ledger reconciliations
- Execute ad hoc, daily and monthly tasks
- Execute all agreed projects and/or carry out ad hoc assignments

Major tasks include:
- Review of creditors reconciliations
- Review and release of EFT payments
Minimum Qualification/ Experience:
- BCom accounting degree or equivalent qualification
- 5-7 years experience in a similar role
- Experience in ERP system, preferably Accpac
- Attention to detail
- Must have the ability to work without supervision
- Must have the ability to work under pressure and be able to adapt to sudden changes
- Must have good interpersonal and effective communication skills
