Job Summary

The Warehouse Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of our warehouse, ensuring efficient and effective management of inventory, staff, and logistics. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities/Description

  • Guide and direct warehouse operators to manage day-to-day activities for inbound/outbound shipments
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of warehouse staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
  • Ensure accurate and timely receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through monthly cycle counts and audits.
  • Implement and enforce safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Facilitate rush order preparation outside standard pick/pack time with different departments
  • Monitor and manage warehouse equipment and supplies, ensuring proper maintenance and availability.
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize warehouse operations and support overall business objectives.
  • Prepare and maintain reports on warehouse performance, including productivity, inventory levels, and order fulfilment.

  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to warehouse operations promptly and effectively.
  • Co-ordinate movement of all raw materials into and out of the warehouse
  • Ensure efficient unloading and binning of all raw materials as per delivery schedule
  • Minimise damages within the warehouse, and ensure these are reported
  • Follow up on all issues and discrepancies regarding stock
  • Investigate non-conformances, and corrective actions in stores area
  • Transfer all materials to SAP as required
  • Ensure all material is correctly labelled, including allergen labels
  • Ensure forklifts are used and managed correctly
  • Ensure all services required for the efficient operation of the warehouse are in good order
  • Assist in troubleshooting Responsibility and authority:
  • Instruct warehouse personnel on safe and correct stacking and storage
  • Raise Non-Conformances if stock issues arise
  • Take disciplinary action with warehouse staff
  • Food Safety Responsibility
    • Adhere to all Food Safety Requirements in terms of Personnel practices and Hygiene
    • Follow all handling, storage and processing instructions as per best practices to avoid contamination or deterioration of materials
    • Ensure GMP programmes are implemented and adhered to
    • Ensure full traceability of raw materials and finished goods when transferred
  • Operational safety requirements:
    • Adhere to all safety instructions and signage
    • Show FELT leadership at all times
    • Safely conduct all operations as per operational procedures
    • Participate in all safety and emergency drills
    • Investigate safety incidents in warehouse and loading areas

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Procedures in a food environment
  • Knowledge of transportation (types, carriers, rules, incoterms)
  • Ability to operate in a warehouse environment and storage facility 100% of the time
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficient in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Training / Certifications

  • • Forklift/Bendi licenses or willing to undergo the necessary training to obtain these licenses
