The Graphic Designer and Marketing Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the Marketing Department by creating visually appealing and effective design materials, as well as assisting with marketing content writing and various administrative tasks. This role requires a proactive, creative individual with an eye for detail, strong writing skills, and the ability to work independently. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with SMEC's local intranet, so knowledge of SharePoint is advantageous, and will also liaise regularly with global marketing teams based in Australia and Singapore.

The ideal candidate should be capable of balancing both design and marketing demands in a fast-paced environment.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES

Graphic Design

  • Create visually appealing graphic design materials for both print and digital environments.

  • Ensure all design materials align with the company's branding guidelines and messaging.

  • Collaborate with the marketing team (local and global) to develop design concepts and ideas for various marketing campaigns.

  • Modify and update existing design materials when required.

  • Stay updated with design trends and incorporate them into projects to maintain a fresh and modern look.

Marketing Assistance

  • Assist in the development and execution of marketing collateral, campaigns, promotions and initiatives.

  • Assist with the coordination of trade shows and exhibitions, including logistics and materials preparation.

  • Support the management of digital marketing channels, such as social media, email marketing, and online advertising.

  • Perform market research and analysis to identify trends, competitors and customer preferences.

  • Monitor and report on the performance of marketing campaigns.

  • Organise and maintain marketing collateral, including marketing and intranet assets.

  • Provide general administrative support to the marketing team as needed.

SharePoint Duties

  • Assist with basic back-end programming and configuration of SharePoint (training provided).

  • Create and manage SharePoint sub-sites, pages, and document libraries.

  • Post and update news articles and announcements on the intranet.

  • Maintain and update document libraries, ensuring proper organisation and access.

  • Assist with the design and layout of SharePoint pages for improved user experience.

  • Regularly review and update content to ensure it is accurate and relevant

RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Traditional/Digital Marketing or a related field.

  • Proven experience in graphic design with a strong portfolio showcasing creativity and a high level of attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in graphic design software, including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc).

  • Basic knowledge of marketing principles and strategies.

  • Familiarity with digital marketing tools and platforms, as well as video editing, is a plus.

  • Experience with SharePoint is an advantage.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to multitask, manage priorities and work under tight deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
