Position Purpose
The provision of labour as directed by the supervisor to ensure a safe and clean working environment or optimized cargo operation in MPT and DBT.
Position Outputs
- Cleaning of operational equipment (such as ship-to-shore cranes’ windows; cranes’ cabins; etc.)
- Inspection of container condition.
- Reefer monitoring operations.
- Opening and Closing of rail wagons twist-locks.
- Loading off-loading and slacking of cargo in compliance with standard operating procedures
- Hooking/ unhooking.
- Tarping/ untarping where applicable.
- Place/ remove dunnage.
- Cleaning of operational areas, rail trucks, plant, workshops, offices, sheds and ablution facilities as instructed.
- Complete applicable documentation i.e. accident reports.
- Identification of correct cargo handling equipment/ gear.
- Shunting out of Rail Wagons When Required In Operational Areas.
- Coupling and Uncoupling of Rail Wagons In Operational Areas When Required.

Qualifications and Experience
Grade 12 / NQF 04
Minimum of 6 months experience
OR
ROC:
- Grade 10 / NQF 02
- Minimum of 2 year's experience
