Job Purpose

To ensure that the environment (workplace) is clean and tidy. Ensure that any safety hazards identified is reported for good management.

Job Context

Overall clean keeping of the environment in support to the business.

Job Dimensions

  • Ensure the upkeep of the highest standards of cleanliness.
  • Meticulously keeping all work areas clean and tidy.
  • Identify potential hazards and reporting.
  • Create a comfortable and safe environment.


Key Accountabilities

These will include:

  • Perform a variety of cleaning activities not limited to sweeping and mopping the floors, dusting and polishing as well as emptying trash cans.
  • Ensure all offices are care for and inspected according to standards.
  • Protecting equipment and making sure there are no inadequacies.
  • Notify superiors on any damages, deficits and disturbances.
  • Check stocking levels of all consumables and request orders from procurement.
  • Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of any company related practices.
  • Assist with answering and operating reception as may be requested.
  • Assist with some of the clerical duties.
  • Ensure COSHH (MSDS) file is updated for both chemicals and cleaning materials.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Previous housekeeping experience will be an advantage.


Job Specific Skill

  • Ability to take orders.
  • Ability to work well with time.
  • Attention to detail and meticulous use of proper safety procedure.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self-directed and motivated.

  • Delivery of takes timeously
  • Initiative and interpersonal skills.
