Truck Driver (Code EC/ 14) with Crane Operator Certification - George, Western Cape

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver with a valid Code EC (old code 14) license and Crane Operator Certification to join our team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for material transportation, crane operation, and assisting with site installations while maintaining safety standards.


Job Description:

  1. Transportation:
    • Collect and deliver materials, equipment, and poles between the yard, site, and within town (using Truck and LDV).
  2. Site Work:
    • Operate the crane, including the use of a cherry picker (man basket).
    • Assist with cable installations.
    • Assist with the installation of mini substations and plinths.
    • Assist with pole planting and overhead line erection.
  3. Truck and Equipment Maintenance:
    • Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and proper storage of the truck and equipment.
  4. Administrative Duties:
    • Complete timesheets and job cards.
    • Maintain logbooks.
    • Manage the ordering of diesel, truck parts, and crane parts when necessary.
  5. General Yard Work:
    • Carry out general yard duties as required.

Key Requirements:

  • Valid Code EC (old code 14) license.
  • Valid PDP license.
  • Crane Operator Certificate (Minimum weight: 6100kg).
  • Afrikaans literacy (read, write, and speak).
  • Minimum Grade 10 qualification.
  • 2–5 years of truck driving experience.
  • 2–5 years of experience in a technical or mechanical environment.
  • Good physical health and fitness.
  • Sober habits with no prior history of excessive drinking.
  • Willingness to work long hours, overtime, and weekends.
  • Positive attitude, neatness, and responsibility.
  • Safety-conscious mindset.
  • Ability to work with or without supervision.
  • Punctuality and strong time management skills.
