Job Advert Summary

To deliver effective sales, manage customer inquiries and provide exceptional service while exceeding stakeholder expectations through proactive communication, personalized support and ensuring timely deliveries.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure effective and efficient sales delivery to satisfy customer needs.
  • All aspects of internal sales including handling of incoming sales calls, preparation of quotations and processing of customer’s orders.
  • Managing and responding to customer questions and queries.
  • Provide information on product availability and price.
  • Exceptional customer interaction and service levels.
  • Follow up with customers to ensure completion of order requirements.
  • Day-to-day liaison with stores, operations, distribution and customers.
  • Ensure sales targets are maintained or exceeded as set by the business unit.
  • Ensure GP margins are maintained as set by the business unit.
  • Communicate product requirements to the purchasing department.
  • Liaise with production and distribution to ensure on-time delivery.
  • File documents per procedure
  • Collate and submit reports.
  • Run data exception reports and take corrective action.
  • Conduct document control spot-checks.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum Grade 12 NQF level 4 -5
  • Knowledge of Macsteel Trading products is essential.
  • Three years’ experience in an internal sales environment is essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (additional languages would be advantageous)
  • Prepared to multi-task and work overtime when required.
  • Working knowledge of SAP and other ERP systems
  • Strong computer literacy – MS Outlook, Word, Excel
