Overview
- Understanding of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus, and IDPS concepts
- Knowledge of host compromise & malware injection techniques
- Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and explain how to avoid them
- Understanding of patch management with the ability to deploy patches in a timely manner while understanding business impact
Duties
- Monitor computer networks for security issues.
- Partner with CyberSOC related to Incidents
- Investigate security breaches and other cybersecurity incidents.
- Install security measures and operate software to protect systems and information infrastructure, including firewalls and data encryption programs.
- Document security breaches and assess the damage they cause.
- Work with the IT team to perform tests and uncover network vulnerabilities.
- Fix detected vulnerabilities to maintain a high security standard.
- Develop company-wide best practices for IT security.
- Perform penetration testing.
- Help colleagues install security software and understand information security management.
- Research security enhancements and make recommendations to management.
- Stay up to date on information technology trends and security standards.
- Provide guidance on technology lifecycle related to security.
- Active participation in external cyber audits
- Mitigate and remediate security incidents

Qualifications
- Matric or NQF Level 5
- A degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer System or any related qualification
- Security +
- Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals
- EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) - Advantageous
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) - Advantageous
- ISO 27001 – Information Security
Experience
- At least 3 – 5 years’ experience in Microsoft discipline ea.
- Experience in information security or a related field
- Experience with computer network penetration testing and techniques
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and provisioning technology, MDM
