We, WorldAware are searching for a skilled accounts payable specialist to join our accounts payable team to help process invoices, track, and record payments in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all supplier invoices are valid and captured accurately, completely and timeously in the accounting system
- Reconciliation of supplier accounts to statement
- Review invoices for appropriate approval documentation prior to payment
- Setting up supplier payment runs ready for authorization
- Ensure all supplier payments are captured accurately and matched to the relevant supplier and/or GL account
- Administer the credit card accounts and ensure that all receipts are matched to the monthly statements
- Monthly VAT submissions and reconciliations
- File all processed documentation, payments made, and supplier reconciliations timeously
- Clear, concise and courteous engagement with suppliers to obtain supplier statements and resolve all queries or disputes
- Assist with audit related queries and other requests on an ad-hoc basis
- Other finance duties as required

Experience and Qualification requirements:
- Minimum requirement: Matric and any relevant bookkeeping / accounting qualification
- A minimum of 3-5 years continuous accounts payable experience in a high-volume environment
- Good understanding of reconciliations, matching and accounting
- Excellent Excel skills and familiarity with standard accounting software
- Foreign exchange experience highly advantageous
Skills / Abilities:
- Adaptability; this role is expected to change as the business and finance team evolves – you should be ready to embrace new challenges
- Outgoing with good interpersonal skills as you will liaise closely with colleagues in the UK and US finance team and will need a confident telephone manner when dealing with suppliers
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high transaction volume
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively
