Security Operations Centre Systems Administrator - SARB

The main purpose of this position is to administer, support and maintain technologies and solutions related to the Security Operations Centre (SOC) within the Cyber Security Operations Division (CSO) of the South African Reserve Bank’s (SARB) Business Solutions and Technology Department (BSTD).

Detailed description

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

• Administer, monitor and maintain technologies and activities related to cybersecurity monitoring and response in the SARB.
• Identify, diagnose and provide first-level support relating to SOC systems.
• Generate and distribute systems health reports.
• Fulfil the activities related to service requests and ensure their timely resolution.
• Support systems specialists in the integration of disparate systems and the enhancement and optimisation of SOC systems.
• Stay updated with SOC-related technologies and developments.
• Provide operational, management and audit support through report and dashboard maintenance.
• Create and maintain systems’ documentation.
• Attend to service requests and relevant first-line calls.

Job Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must have:  

• a minimum of a National Diploma (NQF6) in Information Technology or an equivalent qualification;
• a minimum of one to three years of job-related experience in SOC systems (e.g. Security Information and Event Management (SIEM); Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR); and Database Activity Monitoring (DAM).
