Purpose Statement
- To recommend strategic changes to credit policy using profit optimisation based decision analyses, at both the portfolio and segmented level.
- Manage credit risk as the first line of defence, through a focus on understanding the development of bad debt as against Board approved risk appetite targets.
- Act as the catalyst for Credit profit optimisation to encourage a shared language, way of work and shared tools, across departments involved in target setting and monitoring of the credit life cycle.

Experience
Min:
- At least 7 years’ proven experience in Credit within the financial services / retail banking industry
- At least 3 years’ experience in product costing, pricing and profitability measurement as well as related systems, processes and procedures
Experience in:
- Drafting business plans, presenting and finalising strategies
- Business analysis: Design and implementation of processes and procedures
- Managing a team of specialists/professionals
Ideal:
- At least 5 – 6 years’ experience in product costing, pricing and profitability measurement as well as related systems, processes and procedures in the financial services / retail banking

Qualifications (Minimum)
- A relevant post graduate degree in Commerce
- A Relevant Professional Qualification in Accounting - Financial Accounting or Accounting - Management Accounting
Qualifications (Either/or)
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)
- A relevant qualification in CIMA
