your purpose

Under general direction, the Employee Relations Specialist will support in all areas of employee relations programs including but not limited to compliance with in-country labour legislation and ancillary laws of the countries in which our organization has or will have a presence.

You administer approved organization-wide employee relations policies and practices, assist in the internal audit of employee relations issues and make recommendations to resolve issues. May participate in grievance procedures and exit interviews.

Compliance Reporting

For South Africa and all other territories:

  • Develop & maintain compliance frameworks, governance & legal reports. Implement guidelines for the ER portfolio.
  • Support the Employee Relations & Transformation Department to ensure compliance with all areas within its scope.

Contract Administration

For South Africa and all other territories:

  • Develop, interpret and administer the organization's collective agreements and individual employment contracts so that they are applied in accordance with relevant in-country regulations, laws, and the organization's employment policies and standards.

Research

For South Africa and all other territories:

  • Research of case law and relevant legislation to advise business on IR related matters.
  • Keep abreast of the employee relations climate in the organization and the industry and with proposed and actual changes in employee relations regulations, so that the organization's employee relations policies remain current and relevant. Make recommendations to the Employee Relations & Transformation Department.

Training & Development

  • Develop programs aimed at upskilling people facilitators, managers & executives.2. Facilitation of IR related training content.

Legal Advisory

For South Africa and all other territories:

  • Provision of employee relations legal advice to relevant business stakeholders to ensure compliance with law, and where needed, briefing of attorneys to achieve the same outcome.

what are the requirements?

  • University Degree (LLB)
  • Admitted Attorney specializing in Employment law
  • Minimum 6 years post admission experience
  • Corporate Health & Safety Experience (advantageous)
