Nedbank Masters Scholarship 2020

If you are one of the brightest, the most innovative young minds in South Africa, studying Engineering or Computer Science we can help you unlock your potential by sending you to one of the top universities in the world. Who qualifies?

  • Top-performing graduates in engineering and computer science who are finishing or have just finished their studies and have started working or are already working (no more than three years' working experience).
  • South African citizens.

 

Candidate requirements
 

  • Candidates' degrees must be equivalent to a US or UK bachelor's degree from universities of recognised standing
  • Candidates must have the following traits:

    • Creative problem solving
    • Independent thinking (thinking outside the box)
    • Forecasting (perceiving systems and evaluating long-term consequences)

  • Masters of Science in Computational Science and Engineering

Nedbank offering and candidates' liability

On acceptance by the institution for the relevant qualification Nedbank will fund:

  • registration and tuition fees;
  • books and supplies;
  • accommodation;
  • healthcare insurance; and
  • two return flights per year (SA/US or SA/UK)

Candidates will be liable for the application fees, including the cost for writing a language test and other relevant university tests, e.g. the graduate record examination testing verbal and quantitative reasoning, as well as analytical writing.
 

Conditions

  • Candidates must successfully complete the qualification that Nedbank funds. If they abandon their studies or fail, they will be liable for refunding the bank in full.
  • On completion of their studies students must return to South Africa and work for Nedbank for a minimum of four years. If they resign or leave the company before the four years are over, they must refund the bank in full.
  • On their return to South Africa they will be responsible for product innovation, digital solutions and enabling decision making through big data analysis.
     

Recruitment process

Interested candidates should apply directly at the relevant institution. For most of these programmes applications already close at the end of November 2019 for the academic year starting in 2020. If you are interested please start the application process as soon as possible.


Upon acceptance by the institution, they can approach Nedbank for full sponsorship.


All applications for a Nedbank sponsorship should reach us by no later than May 2020.
