Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) has an exciting opportunity in our Manufacuting & Technical department. We are looking for a talented individual with relevant skills and experience for a Maintenance Planner role, which is based in CCBSA Pretoria Plant. The successful candidates will report directly to the Plant Engineer.
Key Purpose
To manage the relevant maintenance systems, generate routine and planned maintenance schedules, support the maintenance team in the execution of maintenance and facilitate problem-solving so that line availability and efficiency is maximized, breakdowns are minimized, and manufacturing costs are kept to a minimum.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Provide technical leadership and support to the plant in terms of asset management technology.
- Implement business strategies to leverage equipment, productivity, reliability and maintainability, thereby enabling high plant availability and utilisation at lowest cost.
- Deploy the asset management strategy.
- Provide specialist asset management support.
- Ensure that predictive maintenance techniques are implemented correctly.
- Implement asset management system audits to evaluate data integrity.
- Assist and coach staff in asset management principles and application.
- Maintain a safe, healthy and risk free working environment.
Maintenance Planning and Control
- Plan the maintenance day following the 5-day planning cycle.
- Review emergency work orders using the standard.
- Chair & facilitate the pre/forward-maintenance process.
- Create the maintenance plan and assign tasks to team members, including contractors.
- Communicate and distribute plan to team members.
- Update the maintenance plan directly after the forward planning meeting.
- Coordinate kick off meeting & lock out register.
- Organize and distribute maintenance work orders (maintenance packs) with loading sheet to Team Leaders.
Continuous Improvement
- Maintain situation and systemic problem-solving by initiating and ensuring loop closure.
- Facilitate problem-solving sessions using various types of techniques (5 whys, FFA, End state analysis etc.).
- Maintain the Daily Downtime & 5 why in order to ensure alignment with production data booked. Maintain the marking of the 5 why & FFA occurrences according to agreed plant triggers.
- Manage and raise corrective maintenance work to be done on Maintenance day.
- Plan effective Weekly Maintenance Shut Down.
- Plan effective Annual Maintenance Outages Shut Down.

Implement Engineering System Change Administration
- Initiate Engineering Changes Control on SAP and ensure that a responsible person is assigned to execute the change.
- Verify that the Engineering Changes have been executed successfully and documented.
- Maintain the required updates of the engineering change control documents and close change requests.
Breakdown Management
- Verify content correctly and follow on work agreed.
- Recon to stoppage info.
- Raise the CM tasks and close breakdown orders.
- Identify root causes & document accordingly.
- Assist with OPL & QFR development.
- Engage with Engineering suppliers (specialised services).
People Management
- Set and drive the achievement of customer-focused individual goals.
- Lead monthly, six-monthly and yearly one-on-one sessions based on comprehensive self-reviews and customer feedback to improve performance.
- Communicate the importance of business performance to the team regularly to create a performance culture.
- Communicate effectively in the workplace.
- Develop team members Identify competence gaps and develop training plans to close these.

Skills, Experience & Education
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of a Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical) or equivalent.
- A recognised trade test.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of production engineering experience with 3 years at supervisory level.
- Knowledge of Packaging plant will be an advantage.
- MS Projects will be an advantage.
- PC literacy (Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications).
- Knowledge of SAP PM & MM modules.
