Position Purpose:

To design and develop an Occupational Health and Wellness Strategy for TPT which is aligned to the Group Wellness Strategy as well as to the TPT business strategy and to provide strategic leadership in the implementation and monitoring of the Occupational Health and Wellness Strategy in line with various legislative and regulatory requirements.

Position outputs:

  • Design and implement a TPT Occupational Health and Wellness Strategy, aligned to the Group Wellness Strategy and TPT business strategy.
  • Ensure that relevant frameworks, processes and systems are in place to manage / implement occupational health and wellness initiatives
  • Design processes and systems to ensure compliance to relevant legislative requirements
  • Develop quality standards for all programmes and processes including the monitoring and evaluation thereof.
  • Ensure that emerging trends and customer needs are appropriately addressed and aligned with occupational health and wellness programmes offered.
  • Monitor and manage occupational health and wellness providers to ensure adherence to contracts and SLA’s.
  • Develop and implement a clear communication strategy for Occupational Health and Wellness.
  • Provide strategic consultation to the business on various issues related to Occupational Health and Wellness.
  • Ensure that appropriate governance processes, structures and systems are available and applied to all Occupational Health and Wellness Programmes.
  • Manage and coordinate the Employee Wellness team
  • Train, coach and develop direct subordinates to ensure attainment of strategic objectives.
  • Manage the Health and Wellness budget.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A relevant bachelor's degree in Health/ social/ other sciences
  • Post-graduate qualification in occupational health or clinical psychology or related health sciences.
  • Must be registered with the relevant statutory professional council
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in Health and Wellness within large organizations with complex operations of which at least 5 years at a senior managerial level;
  • Requirement of trust and honesty in the handling of finances as per the National Credit Act Amendment 19.
  • Must undergo Lifestyle Audit

Standard Requirements

  • Drivers License code 8
  • Travel as required by the business
