The responsible person will be required to develop, implement, monitor, and maintain efficient automation control processes with the use of FIS and other equipment monitoring technology in addition to the programming of Robots, Welding Equipment, PLC and other equipment to ensure optimum shop performance.
POSITION DETAILS
- Knowledge and understanding of ISO 9000 / ISO 14000 / TS 16949
- Initiates measures to improve equipment performance, methods and quality
- Manage all software and hardware installed on different types of continuous process equipment while ensuring minimal downtimes, proper documentation and version control
- Program MIG Welding robots using offline and online methods while commissioning and overseeing the installation of equipment
- Assists in creating, modifying and revising automation controls instructions and process flow documentation.
- Automotive Assembly Process Knowledge And Experience
- Ability to read blueprints, AutoCAD, EPlan, interpret and modify electrical schematics
- 6 Sigma Certified/Trained
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned

PERFORMANCE CRITERIA
- Improve Framing Line equipment uptime using data analysis and preventative maintenance planning
- Develop and implement short, medium, and long-term improvement plans for implementation within the automated systems.
- Take responsibility for investigating and introducing new engineering technologies and strategies.
- Undertake root cause analysis and ensure Permanent Corrective Actions (PCAs) are implemented.

- Read mechanical and electronic schematics to ensure specifications and adherence to standards are met
- Troubleshoot equipment; manage calibration and preventative maintenance processes.
- Extensive knowledge of a variety of robots, electronic and digital control systems, and experience to test, and writing modifications in multiple robot languages including systems software (Siemens, Allen Bradley, and Rockwell).
- Strong understanding of conveyors system programming and body tooling techniques, in addition to networking understanding, Ethernet, remote IO, ProfiBus, and Wireless Networks
- Fault Finding And Continuous Improvement Execution And Implementation
- Simulation modelling exposure
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- National Diploma or degree: Mechanical/Mechatronics/Electrical Engineering
- 3-4 Years of Automation Experience
- Kuka / Kawasaki / Motoman / Yaskawa Robot Experience
- PLC and Control system experience.
- Robotic MIG Welding Experience
