Purpose of the Job
To supervise all staff in the warehouse to ensure that all daily targets are met. Ensure that operations pertaining to picking, checking and packing are supervised and the relevant policies and procedures are followed. Accountable for upkeep and making sure specified service providers perform tasks as planned.

Job Objectives
Manage Staff
- Control staff attendance every morning and conduct meetings every morning to ensure daily goals are met.
- Conduct disciplinary hearings in accordance with Shoprite policies where necessary and appropriate.
- Perform personnel administration when necessary.
- Scheduling of production staff to ensure proper staffing levels are available to respond to, and meet work demands in a productive, cost effective and timely manner.
- Responsible for planning, allocating, and supervising work; disciplining staff; responding to complaints; and solving issues.

Ensure optimal productivity
- Direct supervision of the day-to-day activities in the warehouse.
- Monitor and plan workload daily.
- Regularly review system reports, and respond promptly if necessary to guarantee that all orders are sent out on time.
- Receive and evaluate reports to make sure that picking and checking are done correctly.
- Create and maintain reports for submission to management.
Walking the floor
- Walk through the Depot and monitor all production.
- Ensure that staff comply with health and safety policies and procedures.

Experience

- 2+ years experience working in a warehouse environment
- 2+ years of experience working as a supervisor
