The main purpose of this position is to assist the Personnel Security Vetting Section with administrative support with regards to security vetting for staff members and contractors of the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) Group.

Detailed Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

  • Escort vetting applicants/visitors to and from reception.
  • Scan and roll the fingerprints of vetting applicants.
  • Collect and submit vetting-related documents to and from external and internal stakeholders and service providers, such as the South African Police Service, the Criminal Record Centre, the State Security Agency, AFISwitch / Ideco , the Department of Home Affairs and departments within the SARB.
  • Render administrative support and management information services to the Personnel Security Vetting Section, such as capturing data on the Security Vetting Information System (SVIS).
  • Maintain all equipment and ensure that operating facilities are secure and in good order.
  • Schedule vetting appointments with clients telephonically and/or by email.
  • Assist with pre-screening and other vetting-related activities as and when required.

Job Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must be in possession of:

  • a Grade 12 Certificate plus a national higher certificate (NQF 5) or equivalent;
  • at least two years’ experience in a vetting administration environment;
  • experience in the use of the Microsoft Office suite (including MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel and MS Outlook as well as the Internet and an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
  • Knowledge of service and stakeholder engagement, data collection and analysis;
  • a favourable security clearance; and
  • a valid Code 8 driver’s licence.
