Job Description

The Security Officer - People & Process Monitoring will be responsible to provide a Security Operation function, which will ensure the implementation of and adherence to security policies, procedures, objectives and client needs through surveillance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Perform focused surveillance activities directed at the detection of physical process anomalies as well as suspicious practices by individuals.
  • Monitor and evaluate the diamond process and operating practices remotely by means of the CCTV cameras to identify vulnerabilities.
  • Monitor operating practices for safe practices in accordance to SHE policies and procedures by means of the CCTV cameras.
  • Ensure comprehensive, accurate reporting and reliable interpretation of observations.
  • Inform local data analyst of identified suspicious activities that requires further review and/or expert analysis.
  • Give inputs with regards to effective configuration of Surveillance Management Systems in accordance with site specific risk assessments and approved change control protocols.
  • Perform regular system integrity checks to ensure that all equipment is in working order, set up correctly and performs in accordance with functional specifications.
  • Assist with training of staff at all levels in the effective and proceduralised application of the security systems.
  • Ensure compliance to evidence management procedure when required to record, export and store CCTV footage for evidential purposes.

 

Qualifications

  • -Matric or a relevant tertiary qualification at NQF level 4 (National Certificate) in Security Management or recognized equivalent.
  • PSIRA registration – Grade C or eligible for such registration.

Role-specific knowledge and experience:

  • Relevant surveillance experience in a CCTV monitoring environment.
  • Knowledge of the application of operational focused and specialized surveillance techniques and methodologies.
