Assistant HVAC Installation Technician - Crayon

As the assistant HVAC installation technician, you will assist the installation tech to install and support systems and products at a high standard. You will guarantee that all customer queries are resolved well, escalated in time, and feedback is continuously shared with the team.

What you'll do

• Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment as per job cards
• Follow all reasonable instructions and requests issued by the HVAC installation technician
• Work overtime when required to do so by management
• Take technical direction and on-the-job training
• Assist in keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions as required by the HVAC installation technician
• Ensure that all tools and equipment are in good working order and are used properly
• Conduct thorough site clean-up on completion of work at the customer site
• Implement proper preparation and stock management prior to commencing work on site
• Comply with service standards, work instructions, and customers' requirements
• Exemplify professional conduct in the correct manner and in accordance with the standards detailed in the operations manual
• Provide exceptional customer service and take due care to avoid damage to customer property

What you'll need

• Grade 12 qualification
• 2+ years of experience as an HVAC technician assistant
• Relevant trade test (beneficial)
• Willingness to continue education in the HVAC field
• A valid driving and gas license
• An understanding of the principles of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating
• Knowledge of service, product, and installation methods
• Capacity to use discretion when examining installation instructions
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Literacy and numeracy skills
• Personal integrity, empathy, and a supreme, mature sense of confidentiality (required)
• Listening skills
• Attention to detail
• To be punctual and presentable at all times
