GET Boilermaker: Global Grade 08 - Barloworld Equipment

Key Output

• Do cutting and profile cutting with the oxyacetylene cutting process
• Remove portions of components (i.e., remove the adaptor from cutting edge) with the air-arc gouging process
• Provide sound welds in a gas-metal arc (CO2) and shield metal arc (stick) welding in the 6G positions
• Assemble components such as buckets, bowls and blades dimensionally correct as per OEM drawings
• Effective self-management and performance ownership
• Use correct tooling to repair broken and bent components

Qualification, Experience and Competencies

• Qualified in relevant trade (Boilermaker).
• Minimum 2 years of work experience after qualification (Post apprenticeship).
• Minimum 2 years experience working with Caterpillar GET.
• Medically fit for the position.
• Driver’s Licence – Code B.
• Grade 12.
• Spatial visualization (linked to assembling).
• Must be able to interpret drawings.
• Must be able to use FCAW welding process.
• Mechanical ability, Hand-eye coordination (Aiming).
• Teamwork, Verbal, and written communication skills
