Purpose of the job:
Manage allocated load and/ or vehicle on assigned route to ensure products are delivered with incurring any damages.
Responsibilities:
Tasks include, amongst others:
- Responsible for the vehicle.
- Day to day inspection of the vehicle and reporting of all faults and serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel
- Completing vehicle inspection sheet and refuelling of vehicles
- Loading and off-loading various foods products including pallets
- Keep the truck, and associated equipment, clean and in good working order.
- Ensure adherence to the Road Traffic Act and ensure the safety of other road users
- Abide by the regulations as set out in Occupational Health and Safety Act,
- Abide by company policies and the regulations of the road.
- Ensuring the vehicles are loaded correctly as well as checking documentation against the loads
- Ensure that correct quantities and loads are delivered
- Ensure all proof of deliveries is signed on delivery as well (PODs, etc)
- Navigate your way around Gauteng and the surrounding areas
- Maintaining company vehicle in a good condition /good housekeeping

Qualification Requirements
Qualifications:
- The minimum level of education / Grade 12 certificate
- Valid, unendorsed Code 14 driver’s license with valid PrDP
Experience Requirements
Experience:
- 5-10 years of driving experience preferably on a Scania, M Benz and MAN vehicle
- Clean driving record
- Clean criminal record
- Communication skills – Verbal and written
- Good reading and writing skills
- Must be medically fit
- Hands-on and practical approach to the job
