Code 14 Driver (Extra Heavy-duty Vehicle) - Premier

Purpose of the job:

Manage allocated load and/ or vehicle on assigned route to ensure products are delivered with incurring any damages.

Responsibilities:

Tasks include, amongst others:

• Responsible for the vehicle.
• Day to day inspection of the vehicle and reporting of all faults and serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel
• Completing vehicle inspection sheet and refuelling of vehicles
• Loading and off-loading various foods products including pallets
• Keep the truck, and associated equipment, clean and in good working order.
• Ensure adherence to the Road Traffic Act and ensure the safety of other road users
• Abide by the regulations as set out in Occupational Health and Safety Act,
• Abide by company policies and the regulations of the road.
• Ensuring the vehicles are loaded correctly as well as checking documentation against the loads
• Ensure that correct quantities and loads are delivered
• Ensure all proof of deliveries is signed on delivery as well (PODs, etc)
• Navigate your way around Gauteng and the surrounding areas

• Maintaining company vehicle in a good condition /good housekeeping

Qualification Requirements

Qualifications:

• The minimum level of education / Grade 12 certificate
• Valid, unendorsed Code 14 driver’s license with valid PrDP

Experience Requirements

Experience:

• 5-10 years of driving experience preferably on a Scania, M Benz and MAN vehicle
• Clean driving record
• Clean criminal record
• Communication skills – Verbal and written
• Good reading and writing skills
• Must be medically fit
• Hands-on and practical approach to the job
