Financial Assistant Trainee - Checkers Food Services

Checkers Food Services (CFS) is looking for a financial assistant who is detail-oriented and knowledgeable about creditors. The Financial Assistant's responsibility is to support the Financial Manager in all activities connected to CFS's financial processes. This position has a fixed duration of 6 months starting December 2022.

Job Objectives

• Following up and resolving daily creditors' queries.
• Maintain and clear purchase clearing accounts and claims.
• Conduct monthly journal uploads such as rebates, discounts, and accruals.
• Execute refunds for approved e-commerce clients.
• Send out creditors' duplicate reports and assist creditors with statements.
• Perform general ledger accounts reconciliations.
• Prepare, analyze, and update financial reports.
• Managing fixed assets (requisition, processing and disposal).
• Fill in for other finance staff members who are on leave.
• Perform any other ad-hoc tasks.

Qualifications

Essential

• Grade 12
• Diploma or degree in financial/management accounting or internal auditing.

Experience

Essential

• At least 18 months or more of experience working in a finance department.

Desirable

• Digital finance experience
• Exposure to online banking

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

• Experience working on SAP and Microsoft Navision
• Basic knowledge of budgeting
• Trustworthy and dependable
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Flexible and highly adaptable
• Must be well-organized and analytical
