He/She will ensure New Southern Energy receives competitive equipment prices in a timely fashion. He/she will play an integral role in ensuring a company sticks to budgets and operates profitably.

A macro procurement view across all live & upcoming projects in the pipeline will be a core function of the Procurement Manager. Various pricing agreements may need to be put in place when buying in ‘bulk’. A drive for attractive deals by setting up ongoing, monitored partnerships with trusted/approved suppliers and subcontractors.

Responsibilities and Duties:

A key player in supplier and subcontractor vetting procedures alongside COO. This would need to be done for any country in Africa which requires an installed system. Vet suppliers and products that have been requested for use by the Engineering Department.

  • Keep pricelists updated for Engineering Department to use for detailed project costing.
  • Drive & develop project Bill of Quantities (BOQ) in conjunction with Engineering Department.
  • Hand over project procurement list (BOQ) to Project Management Dept.
  • Project budget review and signatory on behalf of the Engineering Department.
  • Driving and monitoring credit applications with suppliers.
  • Liaises with key company employees to determine their product and service needs.
  • Monitors business trends and product availability to pay the best price for company goods and services without sacrificing quality or delivery times.
  • Nurtures relationships with suppliers to negotiate the best prices for company.
  • Identifies and researches potential new suppliers.
  • Researches new products and services to meet company's goals.
  • Assesses total costs of company purchases.
  • Develops and implements strategies for procuring, storing, and distributing products and monitoring stock levels.
  • Company stock & inventory management.
  • Ensure all duties listed above are implemented across all Company Branches in Africa.
  • Adhere to company ISO 9001 & 45001 Compliances
