Wood is currently recruiting a Financial Accountant for our office based in Waterfall City.
Job Objective:
- Ensure the smooth running of all day-to-day activities in the accounts department.
- Bring matters of concern to the attention of the Manager Finance as necessary.
- Approve accounts payable, ledger reconciliations and monthly reports in accordance with procedure.
- All taxation matters.
- All branch office affairs.
- Management of all intercompany accounts.
- Preparation and submission of monthly VAT returns.
- Preparation or review, as appropriate, of corporate statutory returns, SARB reporting or other reporting required to comply with legislation.
- Produce accurate monthly management accounts for sign-off by the Manager of Finance.
- Assist direct reports as and when necessary, obtaining professional advice where appropriate.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
- Process monthly journals for all entities in the financial system
- Assist with all transactions in Mozambique and capturing transactions
GL Reconciliations
- Balance sheet account reconciliations
- P&L Account reconciliations
- Interco Balance reconciliation
- Month-end reports update (overheads and mapping corrections)
- Update GL recons - ensure TBs are correct for export
- Export JDE TB's to HFM
- Complete & load Hyperion input packs & ensure no validation errors
- Month-end report file for approval (print all GL recons & reports sign, get signed and file)
- Ensure Interco balance with WSA agrees
- Balance sheet accounts reconciliation - Update GL recons
- Tax calculation preparation (VAT, PAYE, INCOME TAX & PROVISIONAL TAX)
- Income tax preparation for auditors review
- Provisional tax preparation and submit
- Final annual CIT tax calculation based on signed AFS for review by EY
- Assist Internal Audits
- Assistance with BBBEE - supply information on request
- Assist External Audit (annual)
- Assist in preparing of Annual Financial Statements
- SARB (annual report)
- STATSSA (quarterly & annual reports)
- Assist with VAT Audits when applicable

- Bcom Degree
- Complete articles

Experience
- Speak and understanding Portuguese would be an advantage
- JDE experience
- Oracle, HFM and Smartview experience
- IFRS Knowledge
