We build cloud-based transaction processing software in the digital goods and services and payments space, and we’re involved in the latest payment trends in South Africa. We collaborate with key players in the industry to deliver solutions through a SaaS model and our customers include some of South Africa's largest banks, retailers and telecommunications companies.

The Opportunity

Growing a world-class sales team to support the expansion of our enterprise SaaS offering, we’re looking for a Business Development Rep to join us to advance our strategic account footprint. In this role, your primary goal is to get Electrum in front of the right people at the right customer, both qualifying inbound leads and prospecting outbound leads.

This will involve researching market opportunities and key target organisations both nationally and internationally, identifying and connecting with as many leads as possible, qualifying these opportunities, and engaging with key decision-makers via individual prospect research.

You will be based in Cape Town working within our growing Sales and Marketing team. Electrum has exciting long-term aspirations and backs this with training and mentorship to grow effective teams, setting the stage for some great opportunities.

What you can bring to Electrum

  • 2 years of outbound BDR/SDR experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Active listening and conversational skills
  • Demonstrated tech curiosity
  • Ability to position technical solutions in a business context
  • A friendly, self-motivated, enthusiastic, resilient, determined, and organised nature
  • University degree (any field)
  • Experience in the Payment industry advantageous
