POST: Senior Social Worker (Warrant Officer)
LOCATION: Employee Health and Wellness, Provincial Office, North West
LEVEL OF REMUNERATION: Band B1, R 300 345 per annum
REFERENCES: NW03/2022 (1 post)
Core Functions:
- RenderSocial Work Services to the client system by means of Social Work Services’ Proactive interventions to SAPS members and their families;
- Ensure the rendering of Social Work Services to the client system by means of Restorative Interventions and application of Social Work Community, Group, and Case Work Models;
- Work within a Multi-disciplinary Employee Health and Wellness Team;
- Compile and submit feedback report per Social Work Programme presented to allocated Division / Cluster;
- Facilitate/ observe health and wellness events per allocation in the Division/Cluster;
- Present information, education and other communication initiatives (IEC) per allocated Division/Cluster;
- Conduct debriefing of SAPS employees and family members.

Generic Requirements:
- Applicants must display competency in the post-specific functions of the posts;
- Proof of academic record of qualifications from recognized institutions (SAQA accredited);
- Be proficient in at least two official languages, of which one must be English;
- Must be a SA citizen;
- Must have no previous criminal/departmental convictions or cases pending;
- Computer Literacy;
- Interpersonal, Communication and Organizational Skills;
- Analytical, Self-Management and Problem-Solving Skills;
- Be in possession of at least a valid light vehicle driver’s license;
- Applicants will be subjected to a vetting process which will include security screening and fingerprint verification;
- Relevant courses in the field of the posts may be an advantage
- Must not have visible tattoo marks when wearing the SAPS summer uniform and/or irreconcilable with the objectives of the Service;
- Relevant courses in the field of the posts may be an advantage.
Additional Post Requirements:
- Be in possession of a Senior Certificate (Grade 12);
- Applicants must be in possession of a BA Degree in Social Work (accredited by SAQA on NQF Level 7 or higher);
- Registered as a Social Worker with the SA Council for Social Service Professions and submit proof of valid registration for the 2022/2023 financial year;
- Relevant experience in the field of the post will be an added advantage;
- Must have good interpersonal and communication skills;
- Must have problem-solving, report-writing and administrative skills;
- Knowledge of theSouth African Employment;
- Must have good clinical report writing, presentation, and casework facilitation skills;
- Computer literacy (MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Office Outlook, Excel).
