The purpose of the role is to be responsible for timely repair and maintenance of plant and mobile equipment to ensure that is available for mining activities to be executed in a safe manner.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Interprets and coordinates pre-work with regards to repairs, planned and predictive maintenance;
- Accesses any area safely to perform necessary maintenance on machines or equipment;
- Performs safety inspections of equipment and assesses risks on equipment;
- Maintains a clean and safe worksite;
- Ensures the upkeep of maintenance tools and equipment.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Serious contenders will have a N2 Certificate (internal candidates) / N3 Technical Certificate (external candidates) together with a Plater/Welder/Boilermaker Trade Test and minimum of 2 years technical experience as a qualified Welder/Boilermaker in Plants or Heavy Mining Equipment;
- Experience in welding and gouging of ground engagement tools of heavy mining underground equipment is advantageous;
- Valid Code 08 Driver’s license is advantageous;
- Working experience in SAP/1SAP will be advantageous;
- Experience as a Proto team member is advantageous.
