purpose

To grow market share and maximize sales through leadership and development of seasonal Visual Merchandise (VM) strategies, visual merchandisers within the team and brand accountability through regular interaction with key stakeholders (merchant teams, operations teams, marketing and Visual Merchandisers’ in stores and at support centre).

key responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the required brand’s monthly and seasonal VM Strategies through regular interaction with key stakeholders (merchants, marketing, operations, stores, VM Team).
  • Develop and communicate required brand's monthly and seasonal guides to stores and ensure the guides are in line with the brands strategy and direction, and ensure all mannequins and fixtures meet required standards.
  • When required, assist with visual merchandising training, down to a store level, to increase the visual merchandising standards in stores.
  • Respond to Empower feedback where required and guide stores to achieve correct VM requirements.
  • Work closely with procurement project manager, planners and the marketing team to create the VM layout, space planning and fixture layout for new stores, relocations and revamps & brief marketing on the marketing requirements.
  • Work closely with and mentor visual display artists, merchandise managers and wider operations team to ensure visual merchandising reflects the brand’s strategy on a store level.
  • Stay abreast with global visual merchandising trends and find ways to adapt trends to fit the Mr Price value retail model.
  • Provide innovative ideas for new products/ business concepts to drive customer experience in stores through visual standards.
  • Assist with store openings, relocations, and revamps to ensure visual merchandising standards are met.
  • Work with key stakeholders to ensure that they are up to date with latest brand strategic direction to grow market share and maximize sales in stores.
  • Attend brand review and seasonal post-mortem with merchants to gain required insight to drive brands in store

requirements

Education:

  • Grade 12.
  • Degree/Diploma: Graphic Design or a Visual Merchandising Qualification.

Experience:

  • 2 + years of experience with Visual Merchandising and space planning in a retail environment

Knowledge/ Skills:

  • Proficient with the Adobe suite (Photoshop, In-Design and Illustrator) . Sketch Up is advantageous
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • General retail/operations & Leadership.
