ARTISAN ELECTRICIAN
DIVISION: WATER AND WASTE WATER SERVICES
DIRECTORATE: INFRASTRUCTURE SERVICES
Task Level 10: R263 376 to R341 856 (Basic Salary)
R415 024 to R516 503 (Total Cost to Council Package)

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Maintaining, constructing, installing and commissioning of the electrical network of Knysna municipal area
- Draw electrical flow diagrams
- Inspect electrical motor central panels and equipment
- Assist with the commissioning of electrical Infrastructure
- Maintain telemetry work
- Maintain other electrical infrastructure such as cameras, repeater stations, switch over panels, inverters, back
up batteries and telemetry systems - Assist Fitter and Millwright with electricity requirements
- Undertake inspections of electrical installations and report on findings in respect of guidelines provided
- Responsible for on-site Occupational Health and Safety and Supervision of Labour
- Perform overtime and standby duties on a roster basis

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- A recognized Trade Test Certificate as an Electrician
- Wireman’s license (Category 2: installation Electrician)
- Qualifications in ORHVS Modules (1-10)
- Certificate undertaking MV joining
- 3 years’ operational and maintenance experience on medium voltage electrical distribution and reticulation
equipment - Valid code B or higher driver licence
- Physically fit and health
- Computer Literacy
- Effective communication skills in at least two of the three Western Cape official languages
- Physically fit and healthy
- Prepared to work safely above ground levels i.e should not be afraid of heights and willing to climb ladders
- Willing and prepared to work overtime and standby duties
- Effective communication skills in at least two of the three Western Cape official languages
