Job Title: Technical Support Officer

Job Description

What you’ll be doing:

  • Provide competent and accurate administrative and technical support to the Planning & Building Control Services at Capita Breckland. Working to deadlines as required.
  • Validate planning or other applications within the timescales set (including plotting/scanning/public consultations/issuing of Decision Notices etc.)
  • To provide excellent customer service by phone, e-mail and face to face to include answering telephone calls within the agreed timescales and assisting visitors to reception (by appointment)
  • To attend and contribute to meetings, taking notes as required
  • Supporting the delivery of appropriate public consultation and information events with local communities
  • Assist in the gathering research data and maintenance of databases, to inform the understanding of future development and monitoring commitments

What We Are Looking For

  • Minimum of 5 GCSE’s including English and Maths ‘C’ grade or equivalent competence
  • Be familiar with MS Office packages (Word, Outlook, Excel etc).
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and record keeping
  • Competency at checking own, and others, work to confirm accuracy
  • The ability to prioritise and proactively manage workloads, and to work flexibly to meet the requirements of the business
