Position Purpose:
- Collating of information and investigation of variances against the budget to assist the MA with the preparation of the monthly management reports
- Collection of data for the preparation of the annual operating and capital budget and consolidation thereof.
- Co-ordination of minor works submission and collation of data for the preparation of viability models
- Collection of data and input to support the implementation of the terminal costing model to assist in financial decision-making.
Position outputs:
- Investigation of cost variances against targets and presentation of analysis to MA. Preparation of management accounting statistics/numbers and investigation of qualitative reasons supporting the monthly reports to be prepared by the Management Accountant.
- Collection of data and preparation/consolidation of budget schedules for review by the Management accountant aligned to the Transnet strategic objectives and budget guidelines disseminated from TPT HQ.
- Assist Management Accountant in obtaining relevant information to prepare the specific project and terminal viability models to support capital investment decisions and update the terminal viability models on a quarterly basis.
- Coordinate the approval of minor works submissions for the terminal, ensuring all the relevant documents have been duly completed.
- Preparation of monthly cost centre reports for review and sign-off by the Cost centre Managers.
- Assist with the collating data and input for the development and maintenance of terminal costing models.
- Assist Management Accountant in Cost Management by analysing cost drivers with a view to improving efficiencies and reducing costs.
- Provision of information as and when required by the MA or Head office on an ad hoc basis.

Qualifications & Experience:
- National Diploma in Accounting
Experience
- Minimum 3 years experience in the financial environment
- Added advantage 1 year in Management Accounting environment
