The Cashier is responsible for ensuring that all items are rung up and orders are put through correctly to the kitchen.
Key responsibilities
Till operation
- Ring up orders correctly to ensure that the till balances at the end of the day after cashing and making sure that there is enough cash flow to ensure that customers receive the correct change.
- Get money prepared and counted to ensure that banking is done.
Stock Management
- Liaise with the kitchen regarding what is in stock and what is out of stock to ensure that customers are served accordingly.
- Unpack and pack away stock that has been delivered to the Canteen and ensure that fridges and shelves are stocked up.
- Notify the Canteen Manager of any customer complaints to ensure that customers are kept satisfied. Write up the menu for the day so that customers/associates have visibility of what the hot meals are for the day.

Requirements
Education:
- Grade 12
Experience:
- 1-3 years experience with POS (Point Of Sale).
