This role is responsible for driving equity People Capability in a growing market across South Africa, by supporting the people strategy through credible HR leadership. This includes strategic thinking on building and maintaining a robust talent pipeline at restaurant level from Team Members through to Restaurant General Managers, on-boarding, development, performance management, culture and engagement across the equity system. Successful execution will ensure best practice in building people capability to be leveraged across the system.
The successful incumbent will partner with 48 Equity restaurants across South Africa. The staff complement is approximately 1700 team members.
Prioritized Responsibilities:
Attracts talent into the restaurants
- Build a talent pipeline that will ensure sufficient talent now and in the future
- Implement and drive Equity Resource Model
- Develop and maintain relationships with Employment Agencies, Universities and other recruitment sources

Drives engagement through various Development & Culture activities
- Drive exceptional people capability in all Equity stores by helping build our RGM and Area Coach capability through coaching
- Drive Equity Learning and Development strategy by developing creative solutions for people development within Equity
- Build leadership capability that fosters a high-performance culture
- Work closely with Operation Managers and Area coaches in all areas of the people process to ensure quality appraisals, mid-year reviews/pay review processes
Engage
- Drive employee engagement processes in Equity
- Championing Yum’s ‘Culture values
- Partner with Equity business to analyse People Survey results and develop action plans that address areas of concern
Credible Partnership that enables
- Create, maintain strong business partnerships through strong business and industry knowledge
- Being accountable in partnership with Equity business for results of balance score card
- Formulate strong partnerships with business to manage any under-performance and dealing with ad-hoc employee relations issues
- Managing the people plan review process for Equity
Manage & Leads teams
- Provide strategic advice, guidance and direction to Equity Junior HRBPs and Talent Manager on matters of escalation
- Build team capacity and Capability

Education:
- A Bachelor's Degree in a business-related discipline such as HR or Social Sciences
Experience:
- Minimum 6-8 years Human Resource Management experience, managing an HR team and a multi-site team
- Experience in Retail/FMCG, service and/ or multi-outlet industry (highly regarded)
- Middle management level experience in Human Resource Development
