Junior Accountant - Willis Towers Watson

We are looking for a pro-active and ambitious Junior Accountant to provide support to the financial department in our Sandton, Johannesburg office. You will manage daily accounting tasks and be part of a team of 7 accountants working to maintain order and transparency for the company’s finances.

Accounts payable processing and general ledger reconciliations will be a large part of the junior accountant’s day-to-day work.

The ideal candidate will be open to learn insurance accounting principles and able to work comfortably with numbers and attention to detail.

Principal Accountabilities

• Post and process transactions and journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
• Update general ledger and accounts payable and perform reconciliations
• Other aspects include maintaining fixed asset registers, intercompany accounting, travel accounting and general reporting as required.

The Requirements

• Completed Bachelor's degree in accountancy (including Accounts 3 completed)
• Formally Completed accredited articles preferably with a small or medium sized auditing firm.
• Excellent organizing abilities
• Great attention to detail, and ability to work effectively on completing tasks and processes independently whilst providing easily reviewable work
• Good with numbers and figures
• Team spirit
• Excellent Excel skills
