Job Purpose

To ensure that all extending tanks are cleaned in order to avoid colour and micro contamination during the manufacturing of paint batches.

Key Accountabilities

• Clearing of the PVA extending floors of all drip trays etc. to the wash bay area
• Cleaning of operating area
  • Ensure all PVA extending tanks, inlet elbows, top of tanks and tank lids are always kept clean.
  • Operate high-pressure spraying equipment in order to clean and sanitize the interior and exterior of tanks.
  • Keep a record on plant log sheets of cleaning of tanks.
  • Cleaning blockages on tanks when occurred.
• Replacement and topping up
  • Responsible for topping up the biocide dosing tank on a weekly basis.
  • Inspect and report if all fogging systems on the water-based extending are working effectively.
  • Responsible for dosing clean tanks with biocide after cleaning them.
  • Cleaning up work area and equipment after use.
• Reporting & Stock control
  • Report all defects and abnormalities during executing daily duties to the production Foreman.
  • Report all discrepancies to Control Room Operator.
• Quality & HSE
  • Ensure that ISO 9001,14001 and OHSA 18001 systems and procedures are in place and effective.
  • Ensure that plant hygiene standard are high at all times.
  • Ensure good housekeeping practices are adhered to
