Digital Architect at Ovations Technologies

The Cloud Capability Architect will design, deploy, and migrate systems for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments. The capability architect is responsible for identification and selection of appropriate cloud services based on requirements and constraints, has deep subject matter expertise, and can evaluate new technologies for fit in current infrastructure architecture.

• Defines, explains, and advocates cloud strategy.
• Assess architectural options and advance the use of cloud services as primary deployment model.
• Conduct research on emerging cloud technologies in support of infrastructure development efforts, and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and infrastructure flexibility.

• Develop, document, make recommendations, and communicate plans for investing in IT cloud infrastructure, including analysis of cost reduction opportunities.
• Develops and communicates cloud architectural policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures.
• Document and develop in-depth knowledge of company’s existing IT cloud architecture/infrastructure, and technology portfolio.
• Develop, document, communicate, and enforce a cloud technology standards policy.
• Provide architectural consulting expertise, direction, and assistance to solution architects, systems analysts, IT cloud engineers, and other systems architects.
• Performing cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.
• Design, develop, and oversee implementation of end-to-end IT cloud integrated systems.
• Develop and execute test plans to check IT cloud infrastructure and systems technical performance. Report on findings and make recommendations for improvement.

•  Information security (industry standards for cryptographic controls, Identity and Access Management (IAM), secure audit logging)

• Clients: Applications, GUI, Reactive UI, B2B, IOT
• Ingress: API gateway, event streams, static content, CDN, VPN
• Processing: Applications, microservices, serverless
• Persistence: GraphQL, message queues, noSQL, RDBMS, object stores, key/value, cache
• Cloud services: Messaging, tracing, API & SDK, marketplace
• Foundation/landing zone: IAM, cryptography, logging, infrastructure as code, deployment models
• Cross cutting VAS: Monitoring and management, billing and cost analysis, data/ML/AI
• Qualifications: Tertiary, relevant to area of specialisation
• Certifications: Relevant AWS and/or Azure certifications

Experience:

• Minimum 10 years relevant industry experience
• Minimum 5 years relevant solution architecture experience, incl. recent practical experience on 1 or more cloud workload migration / greenfield initiatives
