Mr Price Sport has an exciting career opportunity for a Social Media Specialist. We are looking for a specialist who has a proven track record of growing, influencing, and engaging with a social media community.
Purpose
Developing, implementing, and monitoring digital and social media platforms in line with the business strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Customer
- Ensure a thorough understanding of the social media and digital customer landscape

Research
- Keep up to date with competitors (both local and international) to determine their social and digital positions in the market place;
- Use the social media as a research tool to gain customer insight in order to provide feedback to the relevant departments;
- Investigate industry best practice and initiatives and develop new ideas;
- Conduct ad hoc research to keep updated as and when required.
Strategy
- Develop and implement the content strategy in line with Mr Price Sport brand;
- Develop and implement the social media and digital strategy.
Digital
- Develop, manage and execute the Mr Price Sport website content on a continuous basis;
- Develop, manage and execute the Mr Price Sport customer attraction through external digital partnerships;
- Develop, manage and execute the Mr Price Sport customer retention via the Mr Price Sport digital platforms;
- Partner with digital agencies ensuring digital media deliverables.

Social Media
- Develop, manage and execute the Mr price Sport social media campaigns and day to day activities;
- Partner with merchandise, operations and marketing departments for always on content;
- Manage Mr Price Sport presence on social media sites including Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter and relevant blogs;
- Become an advocate for the company on social media spaces engaging in dialogs and answering questions where appropriate;
- Partner with digital agencies ensuring digital media deliverables.
Reporting
- Monitor affective benchmarks for measuring the impact of digital and social media programs;
- Analyse and review and report on effectiveness of campaigns and efforts to maximize results;
- Ensure a clear understanding of Google Analytics and search engine optimization.
Budgets
- Manage the marketing budget accordingly.

Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Marketing.
- 3 years’ experience in social media platforms and content management
- Passion for sport
- Driver’s license and able to travel
- Thorough knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat and Twitter
- Problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills
- Ability to influence
