Business Need/Purpose of Role:

Weir Minerals AME has an opportunity for a Technician Assistant located at our Mokopane branch to assist technicians to perform maintenance and service-related duties within the Service Centre or on client sites.

Key Tasks:

Including but not limited to:

  • Assist Service Technician/s with maintenance and repair work on site or in branch

  • Assist with installation of pumps and other Weir products

  • Assist with installation and assembling of pumps and other Weir products on site or in branch

  • General assistance as and when required

  • Cleaning and prepping of parts

  • Dismantling of pumps and bearing assemblies

  • Ability to identify solutions to improve equipment or processes on and off site

  • Preparing Weir equipment for assembly

  • Assembling and spray painting

  • Load and unload trucks when required

  • Delivery of Weir spares when required

  • Help with implementing mine HS&E

  • Standby and overtime as and when required from time to time

  • Adhere to HSE and housekeeping requirements at the branch and customer sites at all times

  • Adhere to Duty of Care Policy at all times

 

Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 / N3 Certificate

  • Valid driver’s licence

 

Minimum Experience:

  • 2-3 years’ experience in Minerals Processing Plants

Minimum Skills/Abilities:

  • Clear communication at all levels

  • Able to solve problems in a timely manner

  • Able to read technical drawings
