Responsibilities:
 
  • Establishing and maintaining database of all items on stock management system and ensuring timeous and accurate updating with any stock movement in or out of stores.
  • Ensuring that goods are independently checked and verified to the request for quantity and quality, prior to issuing/dispatch.
  • Managing and overseeing inventory cycle counts including the analysis of stock turnover and adjustment of stock levels and optimum re-order levels in order to eliminate unnecessary expenditure.
  • Allocating space for storing goods and organizing special requirements.
  • Ensuring the stores function effectively through continues improvements and implementation modernization initiatives.
  • Assisting the finance manager in the development of annual budgets for the store.
  • Managing, Mentoring, developing and motivating individuals and teams and to build constructive relationships between individuals within the division.
  • Conducting performance management of individuals reporting to him/her through the continuous monitoring of performance and providing feedback on performance.
  • Ensure clean and safe store environment.
  • Reporting incidents and hazardous conditions and or anything that endangers the safety and security of the University community.

Minimum Requirements
:
 
  • Grade 12
  • Qualification in Principles of Production & Inventory Management (PPIM) and/or
  • Qualification in Basic Principles of Inventory Management (BPIM)
 

Required Years of Work-Related Experience:
 
  • 5 - 8 years in Stores Environment.
 

Desirable Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years stores supervisory/management experience.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
