We are looking for an organized and professional Energy Auditor who can critically analyse power usage in our various operations and to make recommendations on cost saving, measures and technology improvements to be effected. In addition knowledge of alternative energy and specifically solar technology is a prerequisite.\
The Energy Auditor will inspect buildings to assess current energy use then make recommendations to optimize efficiency and minimize cost.

Requirements:
-
Visually inspects buildings and related systems including mechanical, electrical, and process systems to determine energy consumption in each area or system.
-
Performs appropriate and applicable tests to determine the extent of inefficiency.
-
Establishes baselines for energy use and needs by quantifying energy consumption.
-
Ability to do EPC audits.
-
Provides thorough education to end users regarding energy efficiency; fields and answers related questions.
-
Identifies energy saving opportunities, calculating potential savings and prioritizing areas with the most return on investment.
-
Composes and presents audit reports containing the results of the energy analysis and recommendations for improved energy efficiency.

Recommends alternate energy sources and other energy efficient technologies.

Performs other related duties as assigned..

Identify opportunities to improve the operation, maintenance, or energy efficiency of building or process systems.

Calculate the cost and recommend solar solutions for commercial and residential operations with the ability to present the solutions in financially sound formats

Project manage installations and other energy related works,ensuring projects complete timeously and within financial targets.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelors degree or advanced diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering, with a demonstrated interest in energy conservation required.

Experience:
-
Experience in conducting energy audits required;
-
Experience with solar energy management and installations will be highly desirable.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to interact well with customers and coworkers.

Good research and organizational skills.

Proficient in Google Suite or related software.

Ability to explain complicated matters to a variety of individuals.

Thorough understanding of buildings and building systems (including lighting, building envelope, and mechanical systems), as well as combustion science.

Basic understanding of methods used for technical and cost savings analysis and reporting.

Ability to correctly conduct in-field energy assessments.
-
Basic understanding of energy modeling software.

Basic understanding of energy conservation principles and techniques.

Normal working hours are Mondays to Fridays from 08h00 until 17h00 with a 45 minute lunch break. The company allows employees, by approval of the direct manager, to work flexi time between 07h00 and 18h00.
With centrally located and modern offices just across from Cavendish in Claremont, Faircape offers a market-related salary from R 35,000.00 Cost to Company per month.
