The IT Continuous Improvement Specialist will be leading the Shoprite Technology Department's efforts to continuously improve and deliver better value for our internal and external customers, inspired by our departments' strategy to be an efficient and reliable technology partner. We do not take this vision lightly and invest to make it a reality.
The IT Continuous Improvement specialist will be reporting to the IT Management Unit but will provide services to all teams within the Shoprite Technology Department.
Job Objectives
- Performing data analysis and presentation.
- Identification, prioritisation, preparation, execution, and post-Implementation review of improvement initiatives inside and outside (where appropriate) of the Shoprite Technology Department

- Root cause analysis of key drivers of failure and customer dissatisfaction ensuring we focus on the right areas to improve our efficiency and reliability.
- Facilitating workshops to map current and future state positions.
- Working closely with the stakeholders to define improvement plans and objectives that align with the company and Shoprite Technology Department's strategy and roadmap.
- Measure and report results from improvement projects.
- Coaching change agents, teams, and stakeholders to ensure the maximum positive impact of continuous improvement efforts.
- Deliver proactive and effective communication related to improvement initiatives.
- Mobilise commitment for change and enable the continuous sustainment of change initiatives.
- Develop a culture of continuous improvement in the Shoprite Technology Department.
- Develop matrix relationships to involve process experts and conduct improvement workshops.
- Develop and mature the Shoprite Technology Department's operations aligning the various teams and stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or Honours degree in business management / industrial engineering / IT or equivalent formal qualification.

Experience
- At least 5 years of formal Continuous Improvement experience within the IT industry.
- At least 5 years experience leading operational excellence and continuous teams, preferably in a service or operational environment.
Knowledge and Skills
- The ability to work in a complex, cross-functional, and heavily matrixed environment that changes frequently and rapidly.
- Demonstrated presentation and facilitation skills.
- Planning and organising through strong Prioritisation and time management skills
