Duties/Pligte
- Supporting the PI in day-to-day scientific oversight in preparation for and implementation of cohort studies and clinical trials;
- Organising datasets for analysis;
- Conducting basic descriptive analyses, including with large datasets;
- Drafting study methods and results in sections for abstracts and manuscripts;
- Preparing presentation slides of study results;
- Supporting the PI in the submission of scientific manuscripts in online journal submission portals;
- Supporting the PI in coordinating documentation for and drafting of documents for funding applications, including communicating professionally with collaborators and the SU Grants Management Office team.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
- At least a Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or a related field; or an MBChB with proven research experience;
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and good proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint;
- Proven large data analysis skills using statistical software such as Stata, R or SAS;
- Proven experience writing research proposals, submitting ethics applications and submitting manuscripts to scientific journals for peer review;
- Excellent administrative, organisational and communication skills;
- The ability to work independently as well as within a research team;
- Being present working from the Worcester Campus at least three days per week;
- Fluent in written and spoken English.

Recommendation/Aanbeveling
- Experience with design and implementation of clinical research studies;
- A clinical background would be advantageous;
- Fluency in Afrikaans or isiXhosa would be advantageous.
