Senior Data Warehouse Developer - Mr Price Group

Our new Senior Data Warehouse Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining an enterprise data warehouse to meet the group’s needs.

You would be part of the Mr Price Advance team which looks after data analytics, reporting, data science and RPA across the group

Requirements

• Diploma or University Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 5 years experience in:
  • Data warehouse technical architecture, infrastructure components, ETL and analytical tools.
  • ETL processes, data warehouse modelling
  • Experience in cloud data warehousing
  • Integrating with BI Reporting Tools
  • MS SQL Server or Oracle (preferably both)
  • Normalised and denormalised database design
  • Architecting data warehouse solutions and integrating technical components
  • Design and implementation of data warehouse environment

• Applies broad knowledge of technology options, technology platforms, design techniques, and approaches across the data warehouse life cycle phases to design an integrated solution to address business requirements.
• Building large scale databases
• Data modelling (Data Vault 2.0 and Star Schema), data management, ETL and BI
• Perform ongoing monitoring, automation and refinement of BI solutions.
• Work with BI Management to identify and resolve data-related issues.
• Work with business departmental teams to help them define and document business requirements for new metrics and reports.
• Participate in process reviews and enhancements.
• Provide analysis and issue resolution on business reported concerns.

• Participate in the design and delivery of dashboards and various self-service business intelligence solutions.
• Contributes to the designs and plans for the integration of all data warehouse technical components.
• Contributes to the design, automation, and acquisition, transformation and data loading processes in a high volume, high availability data warehouse environment
• Manages the automation and operations of the data warehousing loading process
• Contributes to the design of the data warehouse architecture
• Provides production support to solve immediate problems and keeps databases in production
• Analyses information requirements of customers and supports teams and determines the best technical solutions
• Collaborates with business and technical partners to understand and evaluate their needs for data from the data warehouse.

• Reviews and participates in testing of the data design, tool design, data extracts
• Optimisation, support and maintenance of the data warehouse environment
• Mentors team members in the delivery of services and problem resolution
