Looking for Amazon Careers in South Africa? Before you apply for an Amazon job we believe you need to know more about Amazon. When Amazon launched in 1995, it was with the mission “to be Earth’s most customer-centric company.” What does this mean? It's simple. We're a company that obsesses over our customers. Our actions, goals, projects, programs and inventions begin and end with the customer top of mind.

In other words, we start with the customer and work backwards. When we hit on something that is really working for customers, we double down on it with hopes to turn it into an even bigger success.

However, it’s not always as clean as that. Inventing is messy, and over time, it’s certain that we’ll fail at some big bets too. You'll also hear us say that at Amazon, it's always "Day 1." What do we mean? Our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day — to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, innovate and invent, and focus on delighting customers.

“We continue to aspire to be Earth’s most customer-centric company, and we recognize this to be no small or easy challenge. We know there is much we can do better, and we find tremendous energy in the many challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.” – Jeff Bezos

Does Amazon operate in South Africa?

Yes, one can order from the e-commerce platform while in SA.

However, the e-commerce company only ships specific goods to South Africa. As such, when you create your account on Amazon, you need to fill in your South African address and that way the website will filter out only the products available for shipping to your country.

Benefits of Working at Amazon

Amazon provides you and your family access to the medical care you need, and ways to save for the future.

We know you can’t prepare for every scenario, which is why Amazon provides comprehensive coverage and protection to handle life’s unexpected accidents and surprises.

Regular time away from work is essential for employees to recharge and renew. Employees accrue paid time off in addition to company-paid holidays. And when you need more time for some of life’s bigger moments, such as caring for a new child or an ill family member, Amazon offers several paid and unpaid leave options.

Amazon employees are encouraged to enter different roles, take on new challenges and learn new skills. Our internal transfer opportunities and expanding career development programs help employees build their careers.

The Employee Assistance Program is available to employees and their families for work-related or private issues, including anxiety and stress, legal or financial questions, family issues, child or elder care referrals and many other topics that are important to you.

At Amazon, most employees have the ability to become owners of the company through the granting and vesting of Restricted Stock Units. Amazon is continually evaluating new ways to provide other types of ownership opportunities for all employees.
