To work with the Commercial Buyers (Edibles, Non-Edibles, Fresh, Liquor, GMD), Marketing Team, Advertising Agencies to plan, develop and execute promotional and advertising campaigns to generate interest in a product to drive turnover in the Select Division, focused on high LSM customer.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for the smooth interaction between Advertising, Trade Marketing, Advertising Agency and Buyers on all promotional and advertised lines
- Track, monitor and keep abreast of products and market related promo prices, making use of price probe tool
- Track regional nuances on range and products across commercial divisions with specific focus on the higher LSM consumer
- Manage adverts on advertising promo tool, ensuring that all deadlines are met.
- Checking that the correct products are advertised at the right price
- Track and monitor workflow on adverts and continuous engagement with Buyers on outstanding pricing, products, deadlines etc

- Check Market share ensuring that we maintain and grow share in the market by identifying opportunities
- Influence the pagination, flow, layout and design of adverts
- Manage the execution of the Trade plan, focused on Select division strategic adverts
- Track Competitor prices and address with Buying Teams.
- Inform the Buying team of items out-priced in order to investigate and manage discrepancies
- Ensure promotions, advertising schedules, events etc are clearly and timeously communicated with all relevant stakeholders
Minimum Requirements
- Matric
- Bcomm Marketing Degree or Equivalent will be an advantage 4-5 years’ experience in Marketing and Advertising specifically in the Retail Sector
- Must be proficient in Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Power Point), SAP, RMS Understanding of tools (Promo tool and Price Probe) and Nielsen reports will be advantageous

- Deadline Driven with a great sense of urgency
- Ability to constantly identify discrepancies, inconsistencies and mistakes
- Be able to gather reviews and interprets information to identify trends, draw conclusions and generate appropriate responses
- Ability to work together in a spirit of co-operation and teamwork
- Sound working relationships with all stakeholders
- Always searches for improvement in order to achieve better results through new ideas, methods and approaches
- Positively influences the opinions, attitudes and behaviour of others
- Conveying and receiving messages in a clear and concise manner
- Must be admin orientated with an understanding of advertisign layouts
- A proven track record in achieving tight deadlines whilst maintaining 100% accuracy
