We are looking for a motivated, smart, creative, hard-working individual with a good work ethic and integrity to join our Group Media Team as a Media Assistant (Online and Offline) on a contract basis. The Media Assistant will fulfil an administrative and media role.

Job Responsibilities

Administrative Support:

  • Provide administrative support to Group Media i.e.
  • Financial processes and queries
  • Diary Management
  • Management of Media initiatives and events
  • Booking Travel
  • Assisting in and Facilitating the Onboarding of new team members
  • Time sheet Management

Media and Campaign Management:

  • Oversee the campaign management process (media strategy, planning, optimisation, buying and reporting) for designated portfolio including spend management and guide stakeholders on Media best practice
  • Work with Performance Media Manager to ensure campaign tracking and reporting
  • Guide stakeholders on Media best practice

  • Meet business objectives by recommending and managing media budget for designated portfolio in line with the respective Performance Manager.
  • Keep abreast of current trends in marketing by monitoring, identifying, sharing and executing where applicable media trends that contribute towards the fulfilment of business goals and objectives
  • Co-management of strategic media projects
  • Assist Snr Group Media Manager in Formulating and managing Awards strategy/approach i.e. identify relevant awards for campaign submission and subsequent management of the submission process

Finance:

  • Ensure timely payment of all Group Media invoices.
  • Monitoring, tracking and reporting of the overall Group Media budgets
  • Monitoring of own portfolio Media budgets to ensure campaigns are adhered to against Group's media principles and policies
  • Co-ordination of annual Group media commitment through commitment tracker and assisting with quarterly media owner reviews
  • Co-ordination of media schedules across clusters to avoid negative financial implications i.e. late media bookings and wastage
  • Ensure cost efficiency of Financial Commitments are met against all relevant financial indicators

Governance:

  • Active involvement in the Creation, promoting and maintaining of a culture of operational risk awareness and accountability within Group Media relating to the effectiveness by which Group Media addresses audit issues
  • Assist with the management of supplier contracts in line with Nedbank’s Procurement and Commodity strategy
  • Assist Group Risk, Legal and Compliance by providing input towards the crafting of media policies, procedures and standards for maximum effectiveness
  • Ensure that mandatory compliance training is completed and up to date as per Nedbank’s requirements

Partnerships and collaboration:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, incumbent Group Marketing agencies and media owners by regular interaction and ensure collaboration on campaigns across clusters to drive integration as per Nedbank’s campaign management process
  • Identify opportunities to partner across clusters and with external stakeholders towards the fulfilment of Group Media’s strategy and guiding principles

Essential Qualiffications - NQF Level

  • Matric / Grade 12 / National Certificate

Preferred Qualification

  • Degree in Marketing, Business or relevant field is a strong advantage
